Don't Look Now But Here Comes Game 7
Following Golden State's 108-97 Game 4 road win versus the Cavs ESPN's mascot Steven A. Smith proclaimed "This thing is over".
We now have a classic in the making when the Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals at Oracle Arena following Thursday night's 115-101 win by the Cavaliers. With the win Cleveland became the third team in league history to go from a 3-1 deficit to a Game 7.
With Beyonce and Jay-Z sitting courtside LeBron James delivered his 2nd second straight 41 point performance to help the Cavs live another day. With a Game 7 win the Cavs will become the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, and it will deliver the City of Cleveland its first major sports championship since December 27, 1964.
''I want to win for sure,'' James said. ''But I want to give everything I've got and we'll see what happens. We forced a Game 7. It's going to be a fun one.''
For the Warriors there has to be some concern after going up 3-1 in the series they've looked anything like the team that dominated the regular season winning a league record 73 games. First, there was the Draymond Green suspension and then tonight the reigning league MVP Steph Curry lost his cool after being called for his sixth personal foul; he was ejected from Game 6 with 4:22 left after he cursed at an official and threw his mouthpiece into the front row, striking a fan prompting Curry's wife Ayesha to take to
Twitter.
She later deleted the Tweet.
Game 7 is Sunday at 8pm on ABC.
*The 1951 Knicks and 1966 Lakers are the only two other teams to accomplish the feat and they both lost.
*This is the 19th Game Seven in the NBA Finals and the home team has gone 15-&-3.
*LeBron James (198) passed Manu Ginobili (197) for ninth place in career postseason games.
