Thurman Wins By Unanimous Decision

Keith Thurman vs. Shawn Porter was everything it was billed to be with Thurman retaining his WBA welterweight title in a 12-round unanimous decision over Porter.

The Thurman-Porter bout was the first in prime time on CBS since 1978 and was very entertaining from the opening bell but it was the champion Thurman that won on all three cards 115-113.

Many in the crowd of nearly 13,000 at the Barclay's Center especially the pro-Porter fan base thought the fight was closer and booed the decision.

Following the fight Thurman said he was open to a rematch vs Porter.

"I would give him a rematch. It was a great fight. He was a great opponent," Thurman said. "Everyone was saying would he be my toughest opponent to date. I was unable to drop him. I did rock him. He's a good athlete."
