First there were two shootings last week one in Baton Rouge and one outside of Minneapolis involving cops killing black men.
The following night five police officers were ambushed and killed during a peaceful rally and march in Dallas, Texas in response to the shooting.
That was followed by Carmelo Anthony challenging African-American athletes to stand up and be leaders in the very communities where most of them grew up and are looked up to as role models.
Then last night happened...
The introduction of the ESPY Awards featured Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James speaking on the recent issues in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis, and Dallas.
I salute these guys for being a voice for Black America. Let's see how many other athletes will be inspired by last night and decide to let their voices be heard.
