College Football Playoffs Look At Moving From NYE

Here's one from the "Thanks Captain Obvious" file.

There's no doubt that college football has a huge audience but whoever the genius was that thought it was a good idea to put the CFP up against New Year's Eve celebrations totally overreached and failed miserably so now the honchos over at the College Football Playoff are considering moving future semifinals from New Year's Eve to increase the games television audience.

CFP executive director Bill Hancock told reporters attending SEC Media days that the playoff committee's decision makers are open to changing future schedules.

The move could happen as soon as the 2018 regular season. Last season's semifinal ratings on New Year's Eve were down 38.5-percent from the previous year.
