O'Jays "Love Train" Ripped Off By Trump
The O'Jays are hopping off the "Love Train" when it comes to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The "L.A. Times" reports Walter Williams and Eddie Levert objected to the use of their 1973 hit during the just-concluded Republican National Convention in Cleveland. The founding members issued a statement Thursday saying " 'Love Train' is about bringing people together not building walls." Williams said he didn't "appreciate being associated with Mister Trump and his usage of our music without permission."
The classic song was also used over the RNC's social media outlets one of which renamed it "Trump Train."
The O'Jays were formed in 1959 not far from the convention site in Canton, Ohio.
