Shevchenko Upsets Holm In Chicago

Following UFC 200 I made mention to the fact that the women's division needs Ronda Rousey to regain her form and reclaiming her crown before the women's division of the UFC loses the luster that Rousey was responsible for creating.

Tonight further proved my point that unless there's a dominant female in the division we could quite possibly see the title change hands every fight which in my opinion isn't good for business.

Holly Holm, who became a legend of sorts after dethroning Rousey was upset tonight by Valentina Shevchenko at UFC Chicago, unanimously outpointing the former UFC champion.

Appearing in her first fight since losing her title to Miesha Tate at UFC 196, Holm lost on the judges scorecard 49-46.

Shevchenko (13-2) put herself in the mix to contend for the women's bantamweight title at 135 pounds that is held by Amanda Nunes, who she lost to in March at UFC 196.

Shevchenko may get another shot at Nunes, who defeated Tate for the belt at UFC 200.
