Former President Bill Clinton says his wife Hillary has spent a lifetime working to make other people's lives better. At the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Clinton said Hillary believes in the hard work of making change "from the bottom up." He called his wife a natural leader who is insatiably curious. Hillary Clinton has become the first woman in U.S. history to be a major political party's presidential nominee. Clinton said Hillary helped open his eyes to a "whole new world of public service by private citizens." He talked about meeting Hillary in college in 1971 and how impressed he was with her commitment to civil rights. Clinton said he proposed three times before Hillary said yes and noted that he married his best friend. Taking a shot at Republican nominee Donald Trump, Clinton said Hillary "never made fun of people with disabilities; she tried to empower them."
