Kaepernick Takes A Knee And Puts His Money Where His Mouth Is...
49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick played the entire first half in their 31-21 win over the Chargers to close the preseason in San Diego.
Kaepernick chose to kneel during the playing of the national anthem, but was seen standing during "God Bless America" and stood cheering for troops when they were acknowledged for San Diego's Military Appreciation night. He led San Francisco to nine first-half points, including an opening drive touchdown. Kaepernick completed 11-of-18 passes for 103 yards and added another 38 yards on the ground.
He's expected to be the backup for Blaine Gabbert when the 49ers open the regular season against the Rams on "Monday Night Football" September 12th.
