Elliot Won't Face Domestic Battery Charges

Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot will not be facing domestic battery charges.

The Columbus, Ohio prosecutor's office says it will not be pursuing any charges against Elliott. A woman saying she was the former Ohio State star's girlfriend posted photos of bruises that she claimed were given to her by Elliott during a domestic dispute. An official complaint was filed, alleging he abused her on five separate occasions.

Prosecutors say there was inconsistent information and a lack of evidence to pursue criminal charges. The "Star Telegram" reports the NFL is still investigating the allegation.

Elliott is expected to start for the Cowboys when they host the New York Giants on Sunday to open the regular season.
