Denver Wins NFL Opener And Boy Was I Wrong...

I was wrong and I'm man enough to admit it but come on I wasn't the only one that thought the Carolina Panthers would get revenge of sorts versus the Denver Broncos in a rematch of last year's Super Bowl was I?

Today during my weekly appearance on Gametime Sports Talk in Seattle,Wa. not discrediting Denver's defense but I made the prediction that Carolina would roll and for one simple reason, the quarterback.

With Carolina leading 17-7 heading into the fourth I felt good about my prediction and never saw this thing coming down to a field goal but boy was I wrong...

Playing in his first game as the Broncos' starter Trevor Siemian (18 of 26 for 178 yards, one TD and two interceptions) didn't play like the future Hall of Famer he's replacing but he was asked to manage the game and that he did allowing the run game and defense lead the way for the reigning Super Bowl Champs.

Denver running back C.J. Anderson recorded 139 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's 21-20 win over Carolina. Both of Anderson's touchdown came in the final quarter, with the second score being the eventual game winner, putting the Broncos ahead by four.

*Did You Know* Cam Newton now has the most rushing touchdowns in NFL history for a quarterback with 44. Thursday night's game was Newton's 32nd with a passing and rushing touchdown, breaking another mark. Both records were owned by Steve Young of the 49ers.
