GGG Stays Perfect After 5th Round TKO Of Kell Brook

Kell Brook came to fight but late in the 5th round when he appeared to be running out of gas his corner could take no more and with that suffered his first professional loss, meanwhile Gennady Golovkin's 5th round TKO keeps him a perfect 36-0.

Brook is to be commended after stepping up two weight classes to fight the ever dangerous GGG and he actually stood his own landing several big shots that Golovkin seemingly walked through.

With the victory GGG retained his WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight belts.

Golovkin says he'd turn his attention to a bout versus Billy Joe Saunders in a unification bout but I have to think that as the boxing world eyes Canelo Alvarez's upcoming bout versus Liam "Beefy" Smith the potential of an Alvarez-GGG bout in the Spring of 2017 is much more attractive in regards to money and network viewership. Hopefully Canelo won't pull a Floyd Mayweather and wait until GGG is damn near retirement before he agrees to fight the undefeated middleweight champion.
