CIAA Football Players and Coach of the Week #2

OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK #78 Victor Tamba, Bowie State (Jr, OL - District Heights, MD)

Tamba was a key component along the offensive front for Bowie State, helping the Bulldogs amass 619 total yards of against Johnson C. Smith. The 619 yards is second best all-time for the Bowie State program.

QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK #6 Amir Hall, Bowie State (Fr, QB - Bowie, MD)

Hall completed 23-of-40 passes (two interceptions) for a game-high 262 passing yards and rushed for two touchdowns in Bowie State's 52-0 shutout of Johnson C. Smith on Saturday afternoon.

RECEIVER OF THE WEEK #8 Nyme Manns, Bowie State (Sr, WR - Baltimore, MD)

Manns led all receivers with six receptions for 103 yards in the Bulldogs' 52-0 home win against Johnson C. Smith and sat out most of the fourth quarter.

OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK #15 Maurice Williams, Bowie State (So, RB - Baltimore, MD)

Williams rumbled through the JCSU defense on Saturday and finished with a game and team season-high 154 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 11.8 yards per carry on 13 carries in the Bulldogs' 52-0 romp over Johnson C. Smith.

DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK

#45 Nate Wyche, Chowan (Jr, DL - Suffolk, VA)

Wyche notched 10 tackles (seven solo, three assisted) including one tackle for loss (four yards) in Chowan's 47-14 loss to Campbell.

LINEBACKER OF THE WEEK #51 Braxton Daye, Winston-Salem State (So, LB - High Point, NC)

Daye had a superb night, leading the WSSU Rams in tackles with nine, one tackle for a loss, two forced fumbles and two quarterback hurries, in the Rams 23-17 win over Catawba College.

DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK #4 Trevon Bryon, Virginia State (Sr, DB - Newport News, VA)

In the fourth quarter vs. Tusculum, Byron returned a 22-yard pass interception. He also secured 5 solo and 1 assisted tackle to lift the Trojans to a 24-10 win.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK #34 Devon Hunt, Shaw (Fr, MLB - Rockingham, NC)

Freshman linebacker Devon Hunt led the Bears defense with 14 total tackles (8 solo and 6 assisted), one tackle for a loss of three yards, one sack for three yards, and one forced fumble in his second debut for Shaw in the loss at Wingate.

COACH OF THE WEEK Damon Wilson, Bowie State

Wilson and the Bulldogs erupted for 52 points against the JCSU Golden Bulls and pulled its season record even at 1-1.
