CIAA Week 4 Football Honors
For the week ending September 25, 2016.
QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK #2 Randall Dixon, Chowan (Sr, QB - Rock Hill, SC) Dixon led the Hawks to a 41-13 win over Livingstone on Saturday. He connected with nine different receivers for a staggering 372 yards, completing 21-32 pass attempts. Dixon threw five touchdown passes in the victory.
OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK #8 William Stanback, Virginia Union (Sr, RB - Hempstead, NY) Stanback rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns in VUU's 22-16 win over Fayetteville State. This was the second consecutive game in which Stanback has rushed for three TDs.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK #44 Larry Blanton III, St. Augustine's (Fr, LB - Charlotte, NC) Larry Blanton III led the Falcons with 10 tackles including a tackle for loss in a 35-31 victory over Lincoln (Pa.).
COACH OF THE WEEK Tim Chavous, St. Augustine's Coach Chavous directed the Falcons to their first victory of the season, a 35-31 win over Lincoln (Pa.). The Falcons have won two CIAA contests dating back to last season. The points scored by the Falcons were the most in 18 games.
