NBA Commish Hopes To Have Charlotte Host All Star Game In 2019
NBA commissioner Adam Silver says the All-Star Game returning to Charlotte in 2019 is a "high priority." Silver hopes there is a resolution to a North Carolina law that restricts rights of LGBT people that forced the NBA to move the 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte to New Orleans. Silver spoke Tuesday in Charlotte following a ceremony where Hornets owner Michael Jordan unveiled the first of three local refurbished basketball courts.
Silver said "it is a high priority given the investments in the arena, given the investments in the team that Michael (Jordan) and his ownership group has made, and the city and state have made in the Hornets."
Several other sporting events and concerts have been relocated from North Carolina because of the controversial House Bill 2.
