CIAA Week 7 Football Honors
QUARTERBACK OF THE WEEK #2 Randall Dixon, Chowan (Sr, QB - Rock Hill, SC) Dixon led the Hawks to a 54-21 win over Virginia Union on Saturday. He completed 22-38 pass attempts for a school record 412 yards. Dixon tossed two touchdown passes in the victory.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK #47 Will Johnson, Winston-Salem State (Sr, P/K - High Point, NC) Johnson had another solid game, as he finished 6-for-6 in PAT's and connected on a 37-yard field goal in the Rams 45-10 homecoming win over St. Augustine's.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK #28 Stevie Green, Fayetteville State (RFr, RB - Washington, NC) Green rushed for a FSU freshman record 234 yards on 30 carries with one TD. His touchdown came on a 76-yard run up the gut.
COACH OF THE WEEK Damon Wilson, Bowie State Wilson and his Bulldogs erased a 17-point third quarter deficit, scoring 18 unanswered points to lead Bowie State to a nationally televised 38-37 Homecoming victory against Virginia State. The win puts BSU in sole possession of first place in the Northern Division at 2-0, 4-0 in league play, and 5-2 overall.
