Congresswomen Gather In Support Of AU Sorority

Congresswomen are lining up their support for an American University sorority that was the focus of a hate crime. Democratic Congresswoman Alma Adams of North Carolina said she supports student government president Taylor Dumpson. Alpha Kappa Alpha held a rally yesterday outside the Capitol building, attended by several prominent African-American congresswomen. Bananas hanging from nooses were found around the American campus on Monday, targeting AKA and Dumpson, the first black female to lead the AU student government.
