Riveron Makes NFL History
The first Hispanic referee in NFL history is the new head of officials.
Alberto Riveron has been promoted to senior vice president of officiating. He replaces Dean Blandino, who stepped down last month. Riveron served under Blandino as senior director of officiating the last four years.
He was an on-field official from 2004 through 2012, including the final four as a referee.
