Is David Clark Guilty Of Plagiarism?
Wisconsin Sheriff David Clarke is firing back at accusations of plagiarizing parts of his master's thesis on homeland security.
In an email to the Milwaukee "Journal Sentinel," Clarke says, "Only someone with a political agenda would say this is plagiarism." CNN reports the Milwaukee County sheriff failed to properly attribute sources at least 47 times.
The report says Clarke lifted language from sources verbatim without using quotation marks. Clarke earned his master's degree in security studies at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California in 2013.
Clarke immediately took to Twitter to blast the report and the reporter, calling him "a sleaze bag." Clarke said last week he would be joining the Department of Homeland Security, though that has not been confirmed.
