Man Caught Smuggling Bologna Into U.S.
A bologna bandit is behind bars after trying to smuggle the meat into New Mexico.
Border agents at the Santa Teresa point of entry stopped a vehicle with Texas plates last Wednesday night and uncovered dozens of rolls of Mexican bologna from underneath some personal belongings.
The bologna is banned from the U.S. due to the risk of foreign diseases but can be a very lucrative business.
A roll of the bologna can go for more than ten-times its original value when sold in the U.S.
