UCLA Introduces Jackie Robinson Scholarship
UCLA is introducing a new scholarship program aimed at helping student-athletes who play the same sports as a famous Bruin alum.
The school says the new Jackie Robinson Centennial Scholars Endowed Scholarships are being made available thanks to multiple donations and a university matching fund. The one-million dollar scholarship fund will be offered to students involved in UCLA's men's basketball, football, baseball and track-and-field programs.
Robinson played all those sports during his time at UCLA from 1939 through 1941 before his historic and Hall of Fame-worthy baseball career.
