Houston High School Players Kicked Off Football Team For Kneeling

Two Houston-area high school football players are no longer on their team after kneeling during the national anthem.

Cedric Ingram-Lewis and Larry McCullough used to play for the private Victory & Praise Christian Academy until last Friday. They tell KTRK-TV they went to their football game with a plan to kneel during the national anthem.

They told their coach about their plans.

Coach Ronnie Ray Mitchem, a veteran, says taking a knee would be offensive. After the pair took a knee, the coach immediately told the players to take off their uniform.
