Ever Wonder Where The Term "Black Friday" Originated?

Shoppers are hitting the stores for Black Friday.

Credit.com says the name originated back in the 1950s or '60s with the Philadelphia Police Department.

The term "Black Friday" is how the cops chose to describe the hectic after-Thanksgiving shopping day because of all the traffic jams and crowd situations they had to contend with.

It was also a store in Philadelphia that first used the term "Black Friday" to advertise a post-Thanksgiving sale back in 1966.
