CBC Criticizes Senate Bill That Still Ignores Disproportionate Black COVID-19 Deaths

The Congressional Black Caucus is criticizing a new Senate Bill in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Thursday, the group of elected African American officials denounced the new Emergency Interim Aid Bill citing that its still overlooking the disproportionate effect the coronavirus is having on Black people's health. In a statement the CBC said the bill should outline a national strategy for testing Americans with a particular focus on concentrated efforts in communities where the death rate is out of proportion to the population. The uproar comes after a growing number of states released data about how the coronavirus is disproportionately killing Black people over the past few weeks.
