Coppin State Tennis Places Seven Eagles on Academic All-MEAC Tennis Team


NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State University’s tennis program placed seven individuals on the Academic All-MEAC Team, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. To be eligible, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have recorded at least a 3.0 grade point average for the 2019-20 academic year.

On the men’s side, Sergiu Medesan, Quincy Pettis, Henrique Sada and Sam Scala-McNeill received Academic All-MEAC honors. Brittanie Cahua, Shariah Dunwell and Ajla Hrnjic received the accolades from the women’s team.

“I want to congratulate our men’s and women’s tennis student-athletes, who maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2019-20 academic year,” MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas said. “The ultimate goal is to develop and graduate our student-athletes to be productive citizens in our society.”
