Oprah Surprises Ahmaud Arbery's Mother With A Phone Call

Ahmaud Arbery's mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, is getting an outpouring of love and support since the tragic video of her son's killing was released.

Cooper-Jones said that she received a surprise phone call of support from Oprah Winfrey on what would've been Arbery's 26th birthday, which is May 8th. Wanda said she was in disbelief when she answered the phone to find Oprah on the other end and said Winfrey wished Arbery a happy birthday but also offered her condolences. Winfrey also told Cooper-Jones that she hopes the family gets justice and that she was happy Ahmaud's murder suspects were finally arrested.

Arbery's mother says Oprah said she's sending something in the mail but the contents remain a mystery. The news comes after Winfrey posted a short video taking a walk with her partner, Stedman Graham, as part of the #RunWithMaud campaign.
